LIVING WATER HARVEST FARM PROJECT

Living Water Harvest Farm (LWHF) is an active project situated in rural Ghana. Through farming, poultry, and egg industries, LWHF seeks to serve orphans and vulnerable children by equipping them with education, job-training, and real-life skills so that they can escape generational poverty and improve food security in their communities.

Below you’ll see updates on recent happenings around the farm, but if you want more details of the business and ministry model for LWHF, you can find it here.

As of August 2024, funding and implementation is approximately 2/3 completed.

In February 2023 we acquired a tract of land large enough for farming, for the chicken house, and for a residence for the farm caretaker.

Our BLOOM-Ghana Program Manager Emmanuel, has made significant progress clearing the land, having a water well installed, and building a caretaker apartment and a chicken house.

May/June, 2024 – 500 baby chicks were purchased and are being raised off-site; they will be delivered when they are old enough to come to the farm.

Mid-July, 2024 – Our Program Manager set up a meeting with the neighbor to ask about tying into their electricity line (and thus saving lots of money on infrastructure). The neighbor turned out not only to be agreeable to the idea, but we learned that the neighbor is a pastor who is running an orphanage! What a blessing to find that God gave us land that is next to like-minded servants of our Lord!

Mid-August, 2024 – The chickens are vaccinated, and almost ready for transport!

October, 2024 – This is when we expect the chickens to begin laying eggs. The eggs will be sold in the local markets, providing income for the farm and addressing the strong demand in the area. When this happens, job training will be offered at the farm to local widows and their teenage children.

December 2024 – January 2025 – Loans on the construction materials used for building will begin to be paid off.

With faith as our guide, we press forward in pursuit of turning this prayer into a reality, positively impacting the lives of those living near the farm.
